UNO’s Pizzeria – Chester, VA

By Nicole | Jun 29, 2009

We are traveling to Emerald Isle, NC this week.  We stopped in Chester, VA for the night to break up the 9 ½ hour drive.  We rarely eat dinner out, but decided to try out UNO’s because I had been reading about their gluten free pizza.  We had a great experience.

Dunkin Donuts Coffee is Gluten Free

By Nicole | Jun 29, 2009

I keep reading conflicting comments online about Dunkin Donut’s coffees.  I kept telling myself that there is no way that Dunkin’s coffee contains gluten and skillfully convinced myself of it every morning while I was waiting in line to order my medium French Vanilla with skim milk and sugar.  However, there was always that voice (Greg) in the back of my head saying, “Confirm that there is no gluten in your coffee, Nicole.”  So I consulted Dunkin’s website and confirmed directly with Dunkin Donut’s customer relations that its coffees do NOT contain gluten.  I received the following message from Dunkin Donut’s customer relations:

“Thank you for taking the time to contact Dunkin’ Donuts.  All Dunkin beverages are Gluten Free.

Thank you and have a great day.

Stephanie

Customer Relations Associate”

I’m Gluten Free… Now What?

By Nicole | Jun 29, 2009

When Greg and I confirmed our suspicions that I was gluten intolerant, we both thought, “Now what?” Questions ran through both of our heads (probably more so me). We both spent countless hours on the Internet and specifically on Google. We knew the obvious foods that contain gluten – breads, pastas, cakes, pastries, etc. However, we knew that there were still foods that contained gluten that were not so obvious. Here are some of the most helpful and reliable sites that we have found and would like to share with you.

Our Story

By Nicole | Jun 29, 2009

For more than 10 years, I (Nicole) never felt quite right when it came to eating and the digestion aftermath. I always felt bloated and uncomfortable. At the time, I was in college and living off of pizza, barbequed chicken sandwiches, French fries, and beer. Looking back and knowing what I know now – it all makes sense. I may as well have broken open a bag of enriched wheat flour, eaten it with a spoon, and rinsed it down with a beer.
