Fellini’s Café – Paoli, PA

Greg and I went to Fellini’s Cafe in Paoli, PA recently and were pleasantly surprised by the flexibility of the wait staff. As always, going to a small Italian restaurant while following a gluten free diet is always risky. However, I researched the menu online and figured that worse case scenario, I could have a salad.

We arrived to engage in a gluten free adventure and informed the waitress of my gluten free diet. She was very accommodating and told us that everything is made to order and sauces cold be substituted. We both ordered specials. I had veal with lump crab meat and asparagus. The kitchen substituted the cream sauce for a white wine sauce. Greg indulged in pasta and had a rare gluten filled meal!  There are several Fellini’s in the area.  This particular owner has restaurants in Paoli and Ardmore.

Lesson learned here: Do not avoid small establishments because you fear they cannot accommodate a gluten free diet.
