This week’s gluten free place to be in Terra Bella Organic Coffee in Anchorage, Alaska.  Terra Bella is a locally owned and globally conscious coffee and sandwich shop.  In our opinion, one of the best things about this fair trade and community involved shop is their gluten free sandwiches.

Besides Terra Bella’s organic teas, locally brewed coffee, smoothies and other coffee drinks, Terra Bella has a great variety of gluten free options, including salads and sandwiches on gluten free bread.  Some of our favorite sandwiches from their gluten free menu, include:

• Girwood Veggie Sandwich, which is hummus, fets, pumpkin seeds, cucumber, tomato, shredded carrot and fresh spinach on gluten free bread.
• Terra Turkey Avacado Sandwich, which is honey roasted turkey, ripe avacade, cucumber, tomato, and tart cranberry cream cheese on gluten free bread.

Some of their salads sound too good to pass up, including their Mediterranean Quinoa Salad, which includes red pepper, cucumber, olive, red onion, pine nuts, feta, and quinoa on a bed ot mixed greens. 

Terra Bella supports people in the Anchorage community as well as those worldwide that are doing their part to support organic, fair trade, and sustainable practices, too.   Further, Terra Bella is open evenings for book clubs, knitting groups, etc.  and has the occassional folk music performer and more.  Check out their events page for details.
